UNFPA Strengthens Collaboration with Population Welfare Punjab

Dr. Luay Shabaneh, the UNFPA Representative in Pakistan, held a meeting with Mr. Khalid Pervaiz, Director General of Population Welfare Punjab, to enhance collaboration and outline joint commitments on reproductive health, Family Planning 2030 (FP2030), and strengthening the School of Nursing and Midwifery in Punjab.

The discussions at the Directorate General Population Welfare underlined a significant development in institutional collaboration, particularly within the recently integrated framework of Health and Population in Punjab. During the meeting, Dr. Shabaneh emphasized UNFPA’s ongoing commitment towards building capacity and upgrading the School of Nursing and Midwifery in order to improve training, standards, and services delivered to communities.

Additionally, the two officials focused on FP2030 goals, reaffirming their collective efforts to enhance reproductive health services across Punjab. These commitments represent a broader strategy to deliver improved healthcare solutions and uphold sustainable development within the region.

Director General Khalid Pervaiz acknowledged UNFPA’s valuable support, highlighting the strategic importance of continued cooperation.
