Pakistan ZTE Partnership Boosts Digital Economy and Youth Innovation

Pakistan has taken a significant step toward strategic cooperation with ZTE, a leading global information and communication technology company, signaling a commitment to advancing its digital economy and empowering youth leadership in innovation. Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, visited ZTE’s exhibition center in Beijing, where he received a warm welcome and discussed opportunities for collaboration.
During his visit, Professor Iqbal highlighted Pakistan’s “Uraan Pakistan Vision,” which aims to transform the country into a robust digital economy powered by cutting-edge technology, skilled youth, and global partnerships. He outlined efforts underway to establish Centers of Excellence across Pakistan focusing on key technological fields, including artificial intelligence, robotics automation, nanotechnology, big data, and cloud computing. These centers are designed to equip young Pakistani engineers with future-ready skills aligned with global digital economy trends.
The minister extended an invitation to ZTE to strengthen its collaboration with local institutions and young talent in Pakistan. He encouraged the development of localized operations, joint ventures, and training programs that would empower youth and foster innovation across the technology sector.
Emphasizing the importance of international technology-based cooperation, Professor Iqbal said such partnerships are vital to building a sustainable and inclusive path to modern development in Pakistan. He also noted that this engagement represents not only an expansion of Pakistan’s global connections but also a milestone in achieving key development goals under the “5Es Framework,” particularly in areas such as export-led growth, energy, e-governance, and entrepreneurship.
