**Department of Explosives Launches Online Portal for Petroleum License Applications**
In a move aimed at enhancing transparency and streamlining business processes, the Department of Explosives has unveiled a new Online Application Portal for petroleum licenses. The digital platform will enable applicants to submit and track their license applications entirely online, reflecting the department’s commitment to modernization and improved service delivery.
The launch event was attended by a number of key stakeholders, including the Director General of the Department of Explosives, Mr. Abdul Ali Khan, the CEO of the National Information Technology Board (NITB), Mr. Faisal Ratyal, as well as several other notable participants. Their presence highlighted the significance of this initiative in supporting the digital transformation across regulatory bodies.
The newly launched portal offers a range of features designed to facilitate the application process for businesses. Applicants can now submit their applications and fees electronically and benefit from real-time tracking of their application status. The system also allows companies to use a single login for one regional office, further simplifying the process. However, the submission of original documents remains a mandatory requirement to ensure compliance and authenticity.
Additionally, all existing license holders are required to register their licenses through the new portal. This step is expected to create a centralized and easily accessible database for regulators and licensed businesses alike.
The Department of Explosives’ initiative is expected to significantly reduce administrative hurdles and improve overall efficiency in the petroleum licensing process.
