Strengthening Pakistan Missions Across the Globe
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister chaired a high-level inter-ministerial committee meeting to assess government efficiency with a particular focus on the operations of Pakistan missions abroad. The committee presented its findings and set the stage for coordinated action to improve mission performance.
The Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister emphasized the need to strengthen Pakistan missions by sharpening their diplomatic footprint and ensuring that mission outputs are fully aligned with national strategic objectives. He stressed elevating institutional performance abroad through improved synergy and coordination among all relevant ministries and departments.
Attendees included the Minister of Petroleum, the Minister of State for Railways, the Chair of the National Assembly Foreign Affairs Committee, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, and the secretaries of the Cabinet, Establishment Division, Commerce, Interior, Human Resource and Development and the Economic Affairs Division (EAD), along with senior officials from Finance, Information and other concerned departments.
The committee’s findings are intended to guide follow-up measures that will tighten inter-departmental coordination and raise accountability for mission outputs. A sustained focus on coordination, review and alignment is expected to ensure Pakistan missions deliver tangible results in support of the country’s strategic priorities.
