Spain Digital Nomad Visa for Pakistanis Guide and Benefits

Spain Offers Affordable Digital Nomad Visa for Pakistanis

Spain has announced the launch of its Digital Nomad Visa for Pakistani citizens, providing a new opportunity for remote professionals, freelancers, and entrepreneurs to live and work legally in Europe. With an application fee of just Rs21,500, this visa presents a cost-effective pathway for those seeking to relocate abroad while continuing to work remotely.

The Spain Digital Nomad Visa is specifically designed for individuals who earn the majority of their income from clients or employers located outside of Spain. The initial visa is valid for one year, with the possibility of extension for up to five years. The initiative is part of Spain’s Startup Act, which aims to attract international digital talent and boost the country’s tech-driven economy.

The visa is regarded as one of the most affordable options for Pakistani citizens wishing to work in Europe. It allows not only single applicants but also their families to move to Spain. Key advantages include the ability to bring dependents, no requirement to have a job in Spain, and the flexibility to apply either from Pakistan or while visiting Spain on a tourist visa.

To qualify, Pakistani applicants must meet several eligibility requirements. They need to provide proof of remote work, such as freelancing contracts, startup ownership, or employment with a non-Spanish company for at least three months. There is also an income threshold: applicants must earn at least €2,762 per month; this increases if a partner or children accompany the applicant. The employer or business must be operational for over a year, and applicants must hold a university degree or have at least three years of professional experience. Additional requirements include a clean criminal record, as proven by an apostilled certificate, and valid international health insurance.

Applicants should prepare all necessary documents in advance, many of which may require official translations into Spanish or apostille certification. Required documents typically include a valid passport, recent photographs, proof of employment or business registration, payslips or bank statements, an updated CV, criminal record certificate, health insurance, and, if applicable, business tax returns and relationship proof for dependents.

A critical step for Pakistani applicants is ensuring the criminal record certificate is apostilled by the issuing authority in Pakistan—a mandatory requirement by the Spanish government. Failing to include this document or proper translations could result in visa delays or rejection.

For many remote professionals and freelancers in Pakistan, Spain’s Digital Nomad Visa offers a unique gateway to high living standards, travel across the Schengen Area, and the chance to experience life in a vibrant European country. There is no Spanish language requirement for the visa, and application processing generally takes 20 to 45 days once all documents are submitted.

With its affordable fees, streamlined process, and family-inclusive design, the Spain Digital Nomad Visa is fast becoming a popular choice for Pakistanis seeking a future in Europe’s digital landscape.
