Punjab National Youth Games 2025 Trials Begin for Teams

The Punjab Sports Board has launched player trials to select teams for the upcoming National Youth Games 2025, with oversight by Director General Sports Punjab Khizra Afzal Chaudhry. These trials, taking place at Lahore’s Nishtar Park Sports Complex, are aimed at preparing Punjab’s best athletes to compete in the first ever National Youth Games scheduled to be held in Islamabad.
Badminton trials for both girls and boys were conducted in the Gymnasium Hall, attracting more than 80 participants, including over 50 boys and 30 girls. The athletes participated in competitive matches to ensure that selection is based strictly on merit.
The selection process was supervised by the Trials Committee, which included Secretary Punjab Badminton Association Tayyab Sohail, Assistant Director Muhammad Waseem, Sajid Hussain, and senior players Nadeem Javed and Irfan Saeed Bhatti.
Director General Sports Punjab Khizra Afzal Chaudhry stated that the trials will continue until the 20th of August. Training camps are scheduled to be held from the 22nd of August to the 5th of September for successful candidates, where expert coaches will further refine the players’ skills. She emphasized that athletes from Punjab will participate in the National Youth Games with thorough preparation and high hopes for success.
