Punjab’s Development and Unity Celebrated on Independence Day

Member of the National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb has praised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for putting the province on the path to development, highlighting ongoing progress on numerous projects and the nation’s unity during the 78th Independence Day celebrations. Aurangzeb emphasized the country’s achievements and the critical role minorities, particularly the Christian community, have played in safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and contributing to its progress.
Speaking at a special event organized by the Pakistan Muslim League-N’s minority wing in Rawalpindi, Aurangzeb acknowledged the sacrifices made by minority communities and recognized government initiatives such as the minority card and other developmental schemes specifically for minorities. She assured that minorities in Pakistan enjoy the freedom to practice their religious rituals openly, and reiterated her belief that Pakistan is on the verge of renewed growth and prosperity.
The event was attended by former Rawalpindi mayor Sardar Naseem, Deputy Coordinator Kashif Yousaf, regional and municipal leaders, Pastor Shahid Raza, Chairman of the Hindu Sanatan Dharma Rakesh Pandit, and several other dignitaries. Former mayor Sardar Naseem commended the minority wing for organizing the ceremony, expressing that the Pakistan Muslim League-N has always stood for the rights of minority groups. He stressed that minorities are an integral and valued part of the national community and encouraged individuals to approach him with any legitimate concerns.
Deputy Coordinator Kashif Yousaf also spoke, stating that under the leadership of the Army Chief and Prime Minister, the nation is united for Pakistan’s prosperity and integrity. He dismissed political propaganda from certain quarters, noting that the public remains steadfast and refuses to be misled. Yousaf affirmed ongoing efforts to protect the rights of Christians and other minorities and urged anyone with unresolved issues to reach out for help.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the security and progress of Pakistan, followed by a cake-cutting. The venue echoed with enthusiastic chants of “Long live Pakistan” and “Long live Pakistan Army,” reflecting the patriotic spirit of the event.
