Nolberto Solano Leads Pakistan Football as Head Coach

Nolberto Solano, a former Peruvian international footballer and experienced coach, has been appointed as the new Head Coach of the Pakistan Men’s National Football Team and the U23 squad. The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) welcomed Solano to its headquarters in Lahore, where he was greeted by Acting General Secretary Muhammad Shahid Niaz Khokhar and met with staff members.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Solano said he is honored to lead both the U23s and the senior team of Pakistan. He highlighted his belief in the talent of Pakistani players and emphasized his commitment to demonstrate what they can achieve together.

Solano outlined his immediate focus on preparing the team for the upcoming AFC U23 qualifiers in Cambodia. He stressed the importance of unity, discipline, and mental strength, noting that hard work both on and off the pitch would be essential. Solano underlined the significance of qualifying for the tournament, stating it would be a proud moment for the country.

The new head coach thanked PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani for the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of football in Pakistan. Gilani expressed his confidence in Solano’s expertise and vision, anticipating that his leadership would help build a competitive national side and advance football in the country.

Acting General Secretary Muhammad Shahid Niaz Khokhar described Solano’s appointment as a significant step for Pakistani football, reaffirming the federation’s commitment to strengthening its football structure with the experienced coach at the helm.
