Scaling CFMS Training Across Punjab
From 16–18 September 2025, UNODC held the fourth and final Training of Trainers workshop on the upgraded and integrated Case Flow Management System (CFMS) in Murree, delivered in partnership with the Punjab Prosecution Department and the Punjab Information Technology Board, with support from the U.S. Embassy’s Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL).
Building on three earlier workshops in Murree (5–7 August), Islamabad (19–21 August) and Lahore (26–28 August 2025), the CFMS training centered on practical exercises and technical sessions that explored newly upgraded modules including the Line of Inquiry, real-time notifications, analytical dashboards, a public access portal and an enhanced mobile application.
Participants practised data-driven workflows and learned how CFMS features can improve coordination and transparency within prosecution offices, enabling faster case progression and better monitoring of undertrial status. The CFMS training emphasised the use of analytics to inform prosecution decisions and resource allocation to strengthen justice outcomes.
Select prosecutors from the four Training of Trainers cohorts will now co-facilitate specialised sessions across Punjab to ensure sustainability, institutional ownership and effective knowledge transfer. Local roll-out of the upgraded CFMS is expected to accelerate prosecution processes and contribute to reducing prison overcrowding by minimising delays in undertrial cases.
The programme reinforces institutional training capacity across Punjab and aligns with broader justice reform efforts to modernise case management, improve public access to information and support more transparent, efficient prosecution services across the province.
