Islamabad Boosts Security with Coordinated Measures
A high-level meeting held at the Capital Development Authority headquarters on October 15, 2025 resulted in a package of coordinated steps to strengthen Islamabad security and public safety. The session was chaired by Chief Commissioner and CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa and attended by Inspector General Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, CDA board members, the Deputy Commissioner, the Director General of Islamabad Safe City, DIG Operations and senior officials from Islamabad Police, CDA and ICT administration.
Participants agreed on implementing foolproof arrangements to further improve law and order and prevent crime across the capital. Chairman Randhawa commended the efforts of Islamabad Police and district administration in maintaining peace and ordered that no effort be spared to protect citizens’ lives, property and honour.
Officials reported that all major avenues and roads in Islamabad remain open for traffic and that commercial activity continues as normal. The meeting noted that normal traffic flow and business operations reflect continued stability, while security measures are being intensified to maintain that environment.
The Islamabad Safe City system was highlighted as a central tool in the citywide security plan. Participants reviewed the expansion of CCTV coverage and modern monitoring technology to oversee main roads, public centres and residential sectors. The Safe City operation is maintained by trained staff around the clock and enhancements aim to reduce emergency response times so that timely action can be taken against offenders.
As part of the Islamabad security push, the administration decided to increase patrolling and surveillance at the capital’s entry and exit points with targeted CCTV monitoring. Directives included stepped-up police patrols, routine snap checking and strengthened inter-agency coordination to ensure rapid information sharing and joint response capabilities.
Officials stressed a zero tolerance approach toward criminal elements and emphasised that coordinated efforts by all relevant departments will continue to improve overall security. The collective measures are intended to ensure that residents of the federal capital can carry out their daily lives with confidence in their safety and protection.
