SAP Solutions Drive Transformation in Pakistan’s Public and Private Sectors
SAP’s advanced digital solutions are playing a transformative role in both Pakistan’s public and private sectors, supporting government institutions such as the Ministry of Finance, Pakistan Railways, and the power sector in modernizing their operations. Saquib Ahmad, Country Managing Director for SAP Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Bahrain, highlighted the alignment of SAP’s mission with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision for a Digital Pakistan, emphasizing the growing adoption of intelligent technologies across the country.
Saquib Ahmad noted that Pakistan’s private sector is increasingly adopting SAP’s platforms to boost efficiency, resilience, and innovation. He pointed to the government’s strong digital agenda as a catalyst for modernization, stating that SAP is committed to replacing outdated processes with intelligent technologies, driving sustainable growth for businesses across various industries.
Among public sector institutions, the Ministry of Finance relies on SAP platforms for the national budgeting process, while the Accountant General Pakistan Revenues (AGPR) uses SAP to manage pension disbursements. Pakistan Railways leverages SAP for ticketing and scheduling, and industries such as textiles and the power sector are using SAP to enhance their operational performance.
SAP’s network of partners, including Systems Limited and TMC, have been instrumental in deploying next-generation solutions in cloud enterprise resource planning (ERP), artificial intelligence, finance transformation, human resources innovation, and business data management. Their collaboration is helping organizations modernize and streamline processes for greater efficiency and competitiveness.
These remarks were made during SAP’s Business Suite Innovation Day in Islamabad, where stakeholders gathered to discuss the transformative impact of applications, data, and AI on Pakistan’s economy. The event highlighted success stories from global and local companies such as MG Motors, Aramco (GNO), and Orient Materials, showcasing measurable improvements in productivity and competitiveness through the use of SAP solutions.
