PNCA Commemorates Defence Day 2025 with Cultural Tribute

The Pakistan National Council of the Arts, in collaboration with the Pakistan Cultural Forum, marked Defence Day with a cultural tribute that combined reverence for the armed forces with celebrations of Eid Milad-un-Nabi. The event at PNCA Islamabad brought together artists, intellectuals and citizens for an evening of music, poetry and performances honoring the courage and sacrifices of Pakistan’s soldiers and martyrs.
Organizers framed the event as a dual observance, blending the spiritual significance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi with the national pride of Defence Day. The program aimed to pay tribute to the Pakistan Army, the fallen, and veterans who defended the nation, and to reaffirm collective gratitude for their service.
The evening featured national songs, poetry recitations and cultural performances that highlighted Pakistan’s resilience and cultural heritage. Renowned national artists and cultural figures participated alongside students and members of the public, creating a program that balanced artistic expression with solemn remembrance.
PNCA officials addressing the gathering emphasized Defence Day as an occasion to renew national solidarity and to honor the extraordinary bravery of the country’s armed forces. Prayers were offered for the departed, with supplications for their elevated ranks in the hereafter and for the continued safety, prosperity and strength of the nation.
Dignitaries, cultural leaders and attendees expressed deep respect and admiration during the program, joining in a collective pledge to uphold the values of courage, unity and patriotism embodied by the martyrs. The event served as both a commemoration of sacrifice and a reaffirmation of shared national values.
Through the commemoration, PNCA reiterated its commitment to preserving the memory of national heroes and to promoting Pakistan’s cultural identity. The council said it will continue to use the arts to foster a spirit of patriotism and to keep alive the legacy of those who defended the country.
