IRI-IIUI Showcases Sirah Publications at Seerat Conference

The Islamic Research Institute of International Islamic University Islamabad showcased its research-based Sīrah publications at a Qur’an and Sīrah exhibition held alongside the International Seerat-un-Nabi conference, emphasizing the institute’s effort to link classical Sīrah scholarship with contemporary issues such as education and the ethical use of social media.

The exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony and opened by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf. The conference focused on state responsibilities in educating and training citizens for the positive use of social media in light of the Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad, providing context for the materials on display.

A delegation from the IRI, led by Dr. Sohail Khan, In-charge of the IRI Publications Section, presented the institute’s recent and flagship works. Team members included Hameed Nasir, Dr. Muhammad Amjad Kallu, and Moheb Khan. The IRI’s stall featured monographs, edited volumes, and academic journals centered on Sīrah studies and related themes.

During his visit to the stall, the federal minister was briefed on the IRI’s publications and research priorities. Dr. Khan explained that the institute aims to make classical Sīrah scholarship relevant to modern challenges, particularly in the fields of education and digital ethics. The minister praised the institute’s role in promoting authentic Islamic teachings and underscored the need for research that informs responsible social media use in accordance with the Seerah.

IRI’s participation illustrated IIUI’s broader mission to address contemporary societal challenges through scholarly research. The exhibition offered a platform for academic and government institutions to exchange resources and perspectives on moral and educational responsibilities in the digital era.
