RWU Advances Alzheimers Prediction at RSS 2025

Dr Saba Riaz, Head of the Department of Statistics at Rawalpindi Women University, represented RWU at the Royal Statistical Society International Conference 2025 in Edinburgh from September 1 to 4. The gathering brought together leading statisticians, researchers and data scientists to discuss advances in statistics and machine learning.

At the conference Dr Saba presented her study titled Machine Learning for Early Alzheimer’s Disease Prediction on High-dimensional Multimodal Data, highlighting RWU’s role in applying advanced analytics to pressing health challenges. Her presentation demonstrated how modern machine learning techniques can improve early detection by integrating diverse data sources, a core theme for Alzheimers Prediction research.

The appearance of RWU on this global platform underlines the university’s growing contribution to statistical research and its practical applications in healthcare. By sharing findings on high-dimensional multimodal approaches, the presentation opened avenues for international collaboration and knowledge exchange that can benefit Pakistan’s research and clinical communities.

Participants at RSS 2025 engaged with technical sessions and keynote talks that echoed the need for robust methods in complex data environments. RWU’s contribution on Alzheimers Prediction reinforced the importance of combining statistical rigour with machine learning to address societal health issues and strengthen Pakistan’s presence in global research forums.
