MNU LUMS delegation advances academic ties
A delegation from Maldives National University led by Vice Chancellor Aishath Shehenaz Adam continued its Lahore tour with a focused visit to the Lahore University of Management Sciences. The visit formed part of a week-long programme aimed at assessing collaborative opportunities and learning about campus operations at one of Pakistan’s leading universities.
At LUMS, the MNU LUMS delegation received a detailed briefing on academic strengths and institutional priorities from Provost Dr. Tariq Jadoon and Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Adnan Zahid. The discussions highlighted curriculum development, student services and areas where joint initiatives could add value for both institutions.
The delegation was given a guided tour of diverse academic blocks and state-of-the-art facilities, providing MNU officials with first-hand insight into teaching, research and student support spaces. Conversations during the tour centred on practical steps to explore faculty exchanges, joint research and programme articulation to benefit students in the Maldives and Pakistan.
Officials said these interactions are important for building a robust higher education collaboration framework between the two countries, and the MNU LUMS visit is expected to inform follow-up discussions as the delegation continues its engagements in Lahore.
