Punjab Governor Urges U.S. to Play Role in Gaza Ceasefire During Meeting with American Diplomat Natalie A. Baker

Lahore – In a significant diplomatic engagement, Governor of Punjab Sardar Salim Haider Khan met with U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker to discuss pressing regional and international issues. The meeting focused prominently on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with the Governor urging the United States to play a decisive role in securing a ceasefire and ending the violence against innocent civilians.
Governor Khan requested Ms. Baker to convey a heartfelt appeal to former U.S. President Donald Trump, urging him to use his influence to help stop the bloodshed in Gaza. He emphasized that just as the U.S. played a key role in facilitating the ceasefire between Pakistan and India, it could similarly contribute to restoring peace in Gaza.
Ms. Baker responded affirmatively, stating, “I appreciate your sentiments and will certainly convey your message to President Trump.”
Highlighting Pakistan’s long-standing commitment to peace, Governor Khan noted that the Pakistani military has made immense sacrifices in the war against terrorism, and reiterated that Pakistan desires peaceful relations with all its neighbors.
He praised the diplomatic efforts led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, noting that under his leadership, Pakistan’s stance has been presented with clarity on global platforms, including in the United States.
Governor Khan further stated that India has yet to provide credible evidence regarding the Pulwama incident and criticized the continued silence from New Delhi. He also paid tribute to the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, calling it exceptional and inspirational, and appreciated the vision of President Asif Ali Zardari in steering Pakistan toward growth and prosperity.
In turn, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker acknowledged the Governor’s positive sentiments toward the United States and former President Trump, expressing appreciation for the candid dialogue.
