Rawalpindi Drug Crackdown Yields Major Seizure
Acting on directives from CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani and in line with the Chief Minister’s Vision Drug Free Punjab, Rawalpindi police launched a focused drug crackdown that netted three arrests, including a major supplier, and recovered more than 11 kilograms of hashish, authorities confirmed.
The largest recovery came from Neutown where police detained a major supplier and seized 8.4 kg of hashish. Ratta Amral police arrested one person and recovered 1.7 kg, while Chaklala police took another suspect into custody and recovered 1.34 kg of the drug. Together these recoveries total over 11 kg of contraband hashish.
A Rawalpindi police spokesperson said the operation was conducted under the explicit instructions of the CPO and framed as part of ongoing efforts to implement the drug crackdown across the city. The spokesperson added that all available resources are being deployed to eliminate the narcotics menace and support the provincial vision for a drug free Punjab.
