Celebrating Pak China Art Exchange in Islamabad

The China–Pakistan Art Exhibition, organised by China Media Group in partnership with the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), opened in Islamabad on 18 March to mark 75 years of diplomatic ties and highlight Pak China Art connections.

Ms Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training and chief guest at the event, observed that relations between the two countries extend well beyond strategic cooperation. She noted that strong cultural and civilisational harmony at the people-to-people level is vividly expressed through the colours and creative forms on display, and that initiatives like this exhibition help educate younger generations about the historic bond.

Mr Chen Peng, Cultural Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy and guest of honour, said the exhibition embodies the timeless friendship between Pakistan and China. He explained that fine arts provide a medium to showcase shared heritage and foster mutual understanding, adding that such cultural cooperation strengthens Pak China Art ties and deepens public connections.

Ms Farah Naz Akbar, Parliamentary Secretary for the National Heritage and Culture Division, emphasised that culture and the fine arts bring communities closer together. She described the exhibition as an effective platform for cultural exchange, mutual respect and greater harmony between the two peoples.

The display included works by prominent artists from both Pakistan and China, drawing appreciation from diverse attendees. The range of paintings and artistic expressions underlined the exhibition’s role in promoting creative dialogue and reinforcing people-to-people harmony within the framework of Pak China Art collaboration.

The event represents a significant cultural initiative aimed at deepening bilateral linkages and inspiring future collaborations that will continue to engage youth and broader civic audiences in Pakistan and China.
