Pakistan Advances OIC Women Conference Preparations
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting in Islamabad to review preparations for the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women, which Pakistan will host in early 2026.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to ensuring the success of the OIC Women Conference and underscored the importance of advancing women’s issues within the OIC framework, highlighting the country’s proactive role in promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment.
The minister emphasized the need for close coordination with the OIC to achieve these shared goals and called for sustained engagement at both bilateral and multilateral levels to secure practical outcomes for women across the OIC membership.
Attendees included the Federal Ministers for Law & Justice and IT & Telecommunication, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, the Secretaries of the Cabinet Division, Human Rights and Information, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the OIC and senior officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Human Rights.
The meeting took place in Islamabad on October 22, 2025 as preparations continue for the early 2026 OIC Women Conference.
