Pakistan MMA Federation Hosts Combat Night in Lahore

The Pakistan Mixed Martial Arts Federation (PAKMMAF) has unveiled plans for a major event, “Battle for Truth – Pakistan Combat Night,” to be held in Lahore, aiming to celebrate national sporting achievements and show solidarity with the Pakistan Armed Forces. The event underscores the rising popularity of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in Pakistan and signals the country’s ambitions in global combat sports.

The event will take place at DHA Stadium in Lahore and has the backing of the Punjab government. It comprises two major competitions: the Pakistan Open MMA Championship and Road to BRAVE 100. Amateur fighters from four regional teams, including both men and women, will compete in various weight categories in the national championship. Winners are set to earn a spot to represent Pakistan at the IMMAF World Championships in Georgia later this year.

In addition, the Road to BRAVE 100 event will see five of Pakistan’s top MMA fighters face off against international opponents from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Egypt, and Morocco. Victors from these bouts will qualify for BRAVE CF 100, the prestigious global competition organized by BRAVE Combat Federation in Bahrain.

PAKMMAF President Omar Ahmed expressed gratitude to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for her support, stating that her leadership has helped MMA become a top sporting choice among Pakistani youth. He highlighted the appeal of MMA champions and noted the sport’s growing role in shaping the country’s athletic identity.

Omar Ahmed also pointed out recent successes for Pakistan in the MMA arena, including a clean sweep of ten victories against Indian fighters last year at events in Dubai, Lahore, and Bahrain. He linked these achievements to a broader sense of national pride and unity, reflecting the strength of both Pakistani athletes and the Armed Forces.

This edition of Pakistan Combat Night will also spotlight the achievements of female athletes such as Bano Butt and Iman Khan, both gold medalists, underscoring the sport’s contribution to women’s empowerment in Pakistan.

Punjab Sports Minister Faisal Khokhar emphasized the government’s objective to establish Punjab as the sports hub of the country, with MMA at the heart of this mission. He described Pakistan Combat Night as more than just a competition—it is a statement of national unity, showcasing the country’s determination to excel in global combat sports.
