Patrolling Police Ramp Up Road Safety in Rawalpindi
Under Regional Officer SP Faisal Saleem the Patrolling Police in Rawalpindi recorded a month of intensified enforcement and public service, reinforcing efforts to keep roads safe and crime under control.
The monthly report shows the force registered 173 FIRs and recovered six pistols, 20 rounds of ammunition and six litres of illicit liquor, signaling sustained action against illegal activity across the region.
Traffic operations produced 15,512 e-challans for violations including overloading, overspeeding, underage driving and helmetless riding. In a dedicated anti-smog campaign 4,014 vehicles and motorcycles were fined, while 1,449 underage riders and 2,184 motorcyclists without documents or helmets had their motorcycles impounded to promote safer streets.
Leveraging the E-App system patrolling teams checked 399,357 individuals and 106,868 vehicles, resulting in the arrest of 57 proclaimed offenders and 53 court absconders, among them seven A-category criminals wanted for serious offences; one stolen motorcycle was also recovered during operations.
The humanitarian role of the Patrolling Police was evident as officers assisted 462 distressed travellers and responded to 11 road accidents, providing first aid to 38 injured persons and ensuring prompt transport to hospitals.
Public facilitation remained a priority with 1,044 driving licences issued and patrolling posts serving as everyday service centres offering guidance and assistance. The region also conducted community policing meetings and road safety workshops to strengthen ties with citizens and improve awareness.
A special anti-smog awareness campaign included educational sessions, workshops and awareness walks that received strong public appreciation. SP Faisal Saleem lauded his teams’ dedication and reiterated the Patrolling Police commitment to safer roads, upholding the law and serving the community with resolve and compassion.
