Empowering Students With Youth Laptop Scheme
An event at Quaid-e-Azam University marked the distribution of laptops to deserving students under the Youth Laptop Scheme, part of the Prime Minister’s academic vision. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi attended as the guest of honour and highlighted the university’s importance, saying Quaid-e-Azam University is a source of national pride and that its issues will be treated as a priority.
Minister Naqvi assured the vice chancellor of possible cooperation and reiterated the government’s clear position on the handover of university land, stating that encroached areas will be recovered promptly. He described Islamabad as incomplete without Quaid-e-Azam University and pledged active support for the institution’s development. As part of Vision 2027 he announced plans to develop Islamabad into a university town offering enhanced academic and research facilities for students from across the country.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar expressed gratitude to Minister Naqvi and the government for providing students with laptop access through the Youth Laptop Scheme. He referenced the university’s recent ranking, which places Quaid-e-Azam University among the nation’s leading institutions, and assured continued efforts to raise academic and research standards while thanking faculty, staff and students for their contributions.
Present at the ceremony were Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences Professor Dr Tasawur Hayat, Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Professor Dr Irfan Zia Qureshi, Registrar Dr Shafiq ur Rehman, university officers, faculty members and a large number of students. The distribution under the Youth Laptop Scheme was presented as a step to strengthen student learning and research capacity across the campus.
