Tap Ball Action Electrifies Islamabad Fans

The National-level Tap Ball Champion League ICL edition concluded on November 2 at Bhutto Cricket Ground in G-7, Islamabad, after a week of high-energy matches that began on October 29. The final between Peshawar and WS Sports kept thousands of fans from Rawalpindi and Islamabad on their feet, and Wasim Sports emerged victorious after a thrilling contest.

Fans from across the capital packed the ground to witness fast-paced Tap Ball action, creating an electric atmosphere as players displayed inventive batting and sharp fielding. The final attracted a large local crowd and significant interest from the city’s cricket community.

Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry attended the final as the special guest and took part in the presentation ceremony. Awards and prizes were handed out at the end of the match by the minister alongside former deputy mayor Chaudhry Rafat Javed Advocate and Syed Zahir Ahmed Shah, president of the Muslim League N Youth Wing Federal Capital and former Union Council chairman.

Some of the country’s well-known Tap Ball performers featured in the Champion League, including Timur Mirza, Khurram Chakwalya, Fahad Mian Chanun, Chota Vicky, Ahsan Chatta, Ihtisham Satti, Ahsan Veer, Chota Fana, Achi Butt, Sanam Iqbal Jhelum, Shahzeb Atish, Hasan Panda, Qadir Kashmiri, Shahnawaz Shani, and Bahadur Lifty Karachi, each entertaining spectators with distinctive playing styles.

Wasim Sports’ captain Wasim Ijaz led the winning effort, supported by opener Sarmad Hamid Jhelum and key contributions from Fahad Mian Chanun, Nasir Pathan and Ihtisham Satti. Their combined performance proved decisive in the final stages of the match and helped secure the ICL title for their side.

The tournament offered a total prize pool of PKR 500,000, with the first prize set at PKR 250,000 and the second prize at PKR 150,000. At the presentation ceremony, Federal Minister Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry praised the organisers for creating a successful national-level sporting event for Islamabad and Rawalpindi youth.

The Champion League CEO Haji Luqman Subhani and his team were acknowledged for staging the event, and Haji Luqman presented a guest of honor shield during the ceremony. The ICL edition provided a lively platform for Tap Ball talent and reinforced the growing appeal of this fast-format game in the region.
