Driving Kashmir Solidarity in Buenos Aires
The Embassy of Pakistan in Buenos Aires observed Kashmir Solidarity Day on 05 Feb 2026 with a gathering of the local community and members of the Pakistani diaspora, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to the Kashmiri cause and the principle of Kashmir Solidarity.
Messages from the President, the Prime Minister, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister were read out at the event, reiterating Pakistan’s political, diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmiri people and their legitimate right to self-determination.
In his keynote address Ambassador Hassan Afzal Khan highlighted grave human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, with particular emphasis on the consequences since the illegal revocation of the region’s special status in August 2019. The ambassador called for continued international attention to documented abuses in IIOJK.
A photo exhibition accompanying the programme presented powerful images of civilian suffering in IIOJK, underscoring the urgency of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts and the solidarity shown by the community in Buenos Aires. Attendees from the diaspora and local supporters responded with solemn reflection and renewed resolve.
Pakistan affirmed that it will remain steadfast in support of the Kashmiri people and will continue to press for their right to self-determination through diplomatic, political and moral channels, keeping Kashmir Solidarity central to its engagement abroad.
