Strengthening Judicial Mediation Skills in Balochistan
The five-day training on Judicial Mediation for Judicial Officers of Balochistan has commenced at the Sindh Judicial Academy under the Deliver Justice Project funded by the European Union and implemented by UNODC in collaboration with the Balochistan High Court.
The programme is focused on strengthening judges’ practical skills in mediation and alternative dispute resolution, offering hands-on techniques to handle disputes outside formal trial processes. By emphasising Judicial Mediation and ADR practices, the training seeks to equip presiding officers with tools to deliver more timely and citizen-centred justice.
Participants will engage with interactive modules designed to refine negotiation, case management and settlement facilitation skills, with an eye on applying mediation approaches across diverse civil and family matters. The collaboration between UNODC, the European Union and the Balochistan High Court under the Deliver Justice Project highlights a concerted effort to boost institutional capacity in the province.
Strengthening Judicial Mediation in Balochistan is expected to support fairer, faster resolution of disputes and enhance public confidence in the justice system by making dispute resolution more accessible and responsive to community needs.
