Advancing Afzal Babar’s Education Mission
A large gathering at the National Press Club in Islamabad paid tribute to the late educationist and writer Dr Afzal Babar, founder president of the Private Schools Network Islamabad, honoring his decades-long service to teachers, students and private educational institutions.
Organised by the Private Schools Network Islamabad, the condolence reference saw representatives from education departments, presidents and office-bearers of various school associations, leaders of educational foundations, intellectuals, teachers and members of the press in attendance. Zonal presidents, Central Executive Committee members and general members joined in large numbers to express their respect for Afzal Babar and his lifelong commitment to education.
The event opened with the recitation of the Holy Quran and a heartfelt Na’at. Speakers recalled Dr Afzal Babar’s insightful leadership, his tireless efforts to unite private institutions and his role in creating platforms that strengthened the relationship between education and public service.
Newly elected central president Maqbool Hussain Dar thanked attendees in his presidential remarks and pledged to carry Afzal Babar’s mission forward with sincerity, unity and renewed determination so the network continues to champion education, character building and service to the community.
The programme concluded with prayers for the departed and a collective commitment to sustain the work and values that Afzal Babar dedicated his life to, ensuring his legacy remains a guiding force for private schools and educators across Islamabad and beyond.
