Mobilizing Thalassemia Awareness and Blood Donation

The Thalassemia Center at Al Khidmat Hospital Nishtarabad Peshawar, working with the Paraplegic Center Peshawar, the College of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Blood Chain Pakistan and Friends of Paraplegics, organised a Thalassemia awareness seminar alongside a blood donation camp to strengthen local prevention and patient support efforts.

Attendants, students and staff from the Paraplegic Center Peshawar took part enthusiastically, joining medical teams and volunteers to raise awareness about thalassemia. More than twenty people donated blood at the camp, directly aiding the regional blood supply and demonstrating how coordinated community action advances Thalassemia awareness in practical terms.

Organisers described the collaboration as an important step in the fight against thalassemia and a heartfelt expression of service. The visible involvement of paraplegic patients, caregivers, students and healthcare staff highlighted inclusive solidarity and reinforced the message that local partnerships can bolster healthcare resilience across Peshawar.
