**Pakistan and Nepal Parliamentary Leaders Reaffirm Bilateral Partnership at Global Conference**

In a significant diplomatic engagement, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, met with Devraj Ghimire, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal, on the sidelines of the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Geneva. The meeting underscored the enduring partnership and shared interests between the two South Asian nations.

During their discussions, both leaders emphasized the historically warm and amicable relations between Pakistan and Nepal. They highlighted the foundation of their bilateral ties, which are rooted in mutual respect, shared regional goals, and robust people-to-people connections.

Chairman Gilani reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its multifaceted partnership with Nepal. He identified parliamentary diplomacy, trade, education, tourism, and cultural exchange as key areas for increased cooperation. Emphasizing the significance of ongoing dialogue and collaboration, both leaders agreed on the need to promote peace and inclusive development for the benefit of their peoples.

A key topic of discussion was the importance of joint actions in tackling global challenges. Notably, both sides voiced their support for intensified collaboration on climate change mitigation, enhancing disaster resilience, and advancing sustainable development objectives. These shared priorities, they noted, highlight the need for concerted regional and international action.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire expressed gratitude to Pakistan for offering scholarships to Nepalese students at esteemed Pakistani institutions. He noted that such educational opportunities serve as vital bridges, fostering long-term goodwill and strengthening the connection between the peoples of both countries.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman Gilani extended a formal invitation to Speaker Ghimire to participate in the upcoming Speakers Conference scheduled to be held in Islamabad. Speaker Ghimire accepted the invitation, marking yet another step in the ongoing efforts to deepen parliamentary collaboration between Pakistan and Nepal.
