FG Polo Powers Into Punjab Polo Cup Final

FG Polo surged into the main final of the Allied Bank 97th Punjab Polo Cup after a commanding 9–5½ victory over BN Polo on the fourth day at Lahore Polo Club. The win underlined FG Polo’s credentials as strong title contenders in this historic Pakistan tournament.

The match saw an all-round performance from FG Polo, who combined tactical discipline with composed attacking play to dominate across the chukkas. Raul Laplacette led the charge with a three-goal haul while Marcos Rivarola, Raja Temur Nadeem and Ameen Rehman added two goals each, giving FG Polo the decisive edge and steady momentum toward the final.

BN Polo relied on a fighting display from Titu Ruiz Guinazu, who scored three goals, supported by single strikes from Adnan Jalil Azam and Saqib Khan Khakwani, but they were unable to overturn FG Polo’s strong defense and consistent finishing. The 9–5½ score reflected FG Polo’s ability to convert chances and close down opportunities for their opponents.

The 97th Punjab Polo Cup, sponsored by Allied Bank, drew a sizeable turnout of members and families to the Lahore Polo Club. Among those in attendance were club president Malik Azam Hayat Noon, executive committee members and Secretary Maj (R) Amjad Ghafoor, highlighting the tournament’s standing within the domestic polo calendar.

With the main final scheduled for Sunday afternoon, FG Polo will meet an in-form Diamond Paints/Master Paints side in what promises to be a high-stakes encounter between two formidable teams. BN Polo will contest the third-place playoff against Lahore Polo Club as the tournament moves into its decisive stage.
