CDA Meeting Strengthens Business Coordination
Chairman Capital Development Authority Muhammad Ali Randhawa convened a high-level meeting at CDA Headquarters with Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi, Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Tourism Affairs Sardar Yasir Ilyas, the President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and representatives of the All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran to address business and market concerns in the federal capital.
The session, attended by IG Islamabad Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, CDA Board Member Administration Talat Mahmood, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Planning and Design Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, DC Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon and other senior officers, agreed to establish an effective mechanism for communication and mutual consultation to resolve issues faced by traders, industries and main markets in Islamabad.
Participants decided to form a working group tasked with addressing the legitimate demands of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the wider business community and traders, and to hold regular follow-up meetings in the first week of every month to review progress on pending matters. The CDA meeting emphasized direct engagement with market committees and trader representatives as part of the process.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa reaffirmed that CDA’s goal is the betterment of the federal capital and said the authority will take necessary measures to provide improved facilities to traders and businesses. He noted that traders from the relevant markazs and commercial markets will be included in the upgradation plan alongside sector improvements, and that he will personally visit markets to work with committees on resolving outstanding issues.
The CDA meeting also highlighted that all developmental work in Islamabad is being carried out from CDA’s own resources, and officials are advancing the digitization of records while rapidly introducing a cashless system to streamline services and reduce friction for citizens and businesses.
Federal Minister Hanif Abbasi thanked Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for his cooperation in resolving traders’ and industrialists’ concerns and expressed readiness to play a constructive role in coordination with the business community. Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Tourism Affairs Sardar Yasir Ilyas reaffirmed government priorities to promote business and the economy and pledged full cooperation with CDA.
Sardar Tahir Mahmood, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, welcomed the inclusive approach, saying that involving traders and the business community in consultations will build confidence. He raised issues including various transfer fees related to property transactions for further discussion. The meeting also commended CDA’s decisive actions against encroachment across the federal capital.
