Rally Strengthens Support for Armed Forces

A large rally in Rawalpindi saw thousands gather to express solidarity with the armed forces, as Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Barrister Danyal Chaudhry condemned rhetoric he said undermines state institutions. He affirmed that the nation stands united behind the armed forces and will not tolerate narratives that weaken their resolve.

Addressing the crowd, he said, “Suggesting dialogue with terrorists is not a policy option, it is a betrayal of every soldier who has laid down their life for this nation.” Those remarks underlined his view that support for the armed forces is essential to Pakistan’s security and future.

Chaudhry dismissed political criticism of the military as a “dangerous folly” that benefits the country’s adversaries, and he praised recent operational successes under the leadership of Chief of Defence Forces General Asim Munir. He framed those operations as vital to restoring stability and protecting national interests.

Reflecting on the events of May 9, he described the attacks on military installations as a “coordinated assault on national sovereignty,” asserting they were orchestrated to serve external interests and exposing forces that place political ambition above patriotism. Chaudhry said the nation has rejected that mindset and rallied behind the armed forces in response.

He also explicitly condemned political elements he accused of aligning with foreign narratives, noting that consistent praise from hostile Indian media transforms opposition activity into what he called a conduit for anti-state agendas. The rally in Rawalpindi reinforced calls for unity and a continued public commitment to the armed forces’ role in safeguarding the country.
