Transforming Classrooms with Teacher Training
Positive Solution and APPSKA held a one-day teacher training in Hasan Abdal attended by nearly 300 teachers from public and private schools, focusing on modern pedagogical trends, professional skills and the wider social and ethical responsibilities of educators.
Dr. Atiq Raza, CEO of Positive Solution, led sessions on the 21st-century demands of teaching, student character development, effective classroom culture and the practical use of educational technology to address everyday teaching challenges. He emphasized that an effective teacher guides students to think, understand and progress, highlighting the central role of teacher training in improving learning outcomes.
Haji Muhammad Hussain, a respected educational and social leader, addressed the ethical role of teachers, building strong relationships with students, parenting and discipline in the classroom. He also linked personal wellbeing to professional effectiveness, noting that Islam promotes care for mental, spiritual and physical health and that a healthy teacher raises a healthy generation.
The event included contributions from APPSKA central general secretary Ashraf Haraj, divisional president Rawalpindi Irfan Muzafar Kiani, district president Tahir Mehmood Durrani and Positive Solution schools training head Mian Ijaz Ahmad, alongside community figures such as Haji Chingiz Khan, Haji Khizar Mehmood, Sheikh Muhammad Rafaqat, Taimur Sajid Khan, Malik Bashir, Haji Muhammad Rafiq Qadri, Syed Hashim Ali Alvi, Muhammad Dilshad Janjua, Muhammad Waqar Tahir and Waqas Ahmad. Their participation reinforced the local commitment to strengthening schools through quality teacher training.
Certificates, shields and commemorative gifts were distributed during the closing session to acknowledge participating teachers and trainers. APPSKA Hasan Abdal president Chaudhry Waqas Ali and general secretary Muhammad Ali Qureshi thanked the organizers and participants, calling the programme an important milestone for raising educational standards in the area.
Organisers from APPSKA and Positive Solution pledged to expand teacher training to neighboring tehsils, announcing plans for follow-up programmes in Hazro and Attock under the leadership of district president Muhammad Tahir Durrani and programme head Mian Ijaz Ahmad, aiming to sustain momentum for improved classroom practice across the district.
