Forging Pakistan Minerals Ties with Saudi Arabia
Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik met with H.E. Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, to discuss enhanced cooperation in the minerals and energy sectors and explore new avenues for bilateral collaboration.
The Federal Minister expressed deep regard for Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and underscored that Pakistan Saudi Arabia relations are grounded in shared religious and cultural bonds and robust people-to-people ties. He noted that this historic partnership continues to broaden year after year across multiple sectors, reflecting strong mutual trust.
At the Ambassador’s invitation, the Federal Minister confirmed that Pakistan will fully participate in the upcoming Future Minerals Forum in Riyadh later this month. Pakistan will present a dedicated pavilion titled Pakistan – The Mineral Marvel to highlight the scale and diversity of Pakistan minerals potential to the global mining and investment community.
The Pakistani delegation will be led by the Federal Minister and include thirteen state-owned and private mineral companies. The Ministry of Energy, Petroleum Division together with Pakistan Petroleum Limited will oversee the pavilion setup and all related activities at FMF 2026. A 90-minute Country Showcase Session will feature the Federal Minister, CEOs of state and private companies, representatives of foreign investors and international subject-matter experts, concentrating on “Unleashing Potential: Accelerating Pakistan’s Mineral Revolution.” The session aims to position Pakistan minerals as an investable frontier.
The pavilion will also act as a prelude to the Pakistan Mineral Investment Forum (PMIF) 2026 in April in Islamabad, helping attract international participation and laying groundwork for prospective projects and partnerships in Pakistan’s mineral sector.
Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy warmly welcomed Pakistan’s participation at the Riyadh forum, reaffirming the longstanding brotherly ties between the two countries. He highlighted the significant potential for cooperation in minerals and energy and expressed confidence that the Future Minerals Forum will provide an effective platform to deepen practical collaboration.
Both sides reiterated their commitment to strengthen bilateral ties and expand economic cooperation to support mutual growth and development, with a shared focus on translating discussions into concrete investment and technical partnerships.
