Board Cracks Down on Exam Cheating in Rawalpindi

10 October 2025 — Controller of Examinations Tanveer Asghar Awan of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi conducted inspections of several intermediate Second Annual 2025 exam centres to review security arrangements, seating plans and invigilator attendance.

During a visit to Government Graduate College Satellite Town Rawalpindi, an examinee identified as Mashaf Zahid, roll number 804637, was caught copying during the Physics paper. Immediate action was taken at the centre, the incident was formally registered and the case was forwarded to the board’s discipline branch for further proceedings.

The controller reiterated that there will be no compromise on merit and transparency and that the board is strictly implementing the Punjab government’s zero tolerance policy to prevent exam cheating. He emphasized that all exam centres will continue to be monitored to safeguard the integrity of the examination process.

A board spokesperson, Arsalan Ali Cheema, confirmed the disciplinary referral and said the administration will pursue all required measures under board rules to maintain public confidence in the examinations.
