Free Medical Camp Brings Healthcare to Chachro
A two-day Free Medical Camp will take place on 30-31 January 2026 at Civil Hospital, Chachro, bringing essential healthcare services to remote communities across Tharparkar. The camp aims to reach underserved residents who face barriers to routine medical care, with particular attention on women, children and the elderly.
OIC-COMSTECH is organizing the initiative in partnership with the University of Modern Sciences, Tando Muhammad Khan, while Gourmet Foods, the District Administration and the District Health Department, Government of Sindh, will support logistics and local coordination. The collaborative effort is intended to ensure broad community outreach and efficient on-site operations.
Patients will receive free medical consultations, basic diagnostic tests and complimentary medicines. Special emphasis will be placed on eye care: qualified eye specialists will perform vision screening and eye examinations, and deserving patients will be provided with free distance vision glasses following assessment to help address common visual impairments in the area.
A multidisciplinary team of qualified doctors from Indus Medical College, together with COMSTECH officials and local health authorities, will staff the Free Medical Camp to maintain clinical standards and smooth service delivery. Organizers expect a significant turnout from nearby settlements and are preparing to manage high patient volumes over the two days.
Beyond immediate treatment, the camp will promote health awareness among attendees, offering guidance on preventive care and referrals for follow-up where needed. The event underscores OIC-COMSTECH’s ongoing commitment, alongside its partners, to humanitarian outreach and improving access to basic healthcare services in marginalized and hard-to-reach areas of member states.
