Advancing Pakistan China Trade Finance
Ambassador of Pakistan to China H.E. Mr. Khalil Hashmi held a productive exchange at Pakistan House with representatives of Pakistani banks in Beijing to discuss measures that will advance Pakistan China trade financing and support bilateral investment flows.
The meeting reviewed ongoing banking operations that facilitate trade and investment financing between Pakistan and China, with participants exchanging notes on their respective roles in promoting small and medium Chinese enterprises. Discussions drew on lessons and follow-up actions from recent Pakistan-China B2B investment conferences, including the event hosted in Beijing during the Prime Minister’s visit last September.
Participants explored practical steps to streamline financing channels for exporters and investors, and to strengthen outreach to SMEs that are emerging partners in bilateral projects. Ambassador Hashmi welcomed encouraging early indicators of progress arising from these B2B exchanges and underscored the importance of sustained coordination between diplomatic channels and the banking sector to deepen Pakistan China trade links.
The delegation agreed to continue working on targeted financing solutions and information sharing to ensure that momentum from the B2B meetings translates into concrete support for trade and SME investment between the two countries.
