Turkish Democracy Day Celebrated with Plantation Drive in Islamabad

Rawalpindi Women University (RWU) joined a plantation drive at Fatima Jinnah Park in Islamabad to mark Turkish Democracy and National Unity Day. The event, organized by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), brought together university faculty, students, and dignitaries from both Pakistan and Türkiye.
The plantation drive was attended by the Ambassador of Türkiye to Islamabad, Irfan Neziroğlu, and Naeem Akbar Raja, Pakistan’s Federal Secretary for Law and Justice. Also present were Pakistani government officials, representatives from civil society organizations, members of Turkish institutions in Islamabad, and Turkish citizens living in the city.
A total of 253 saplings were planted during the event, reflecting the participants’ shared commitment to environmental preservation and international friendship. The collaboration between RWU and TİKA underscores the strong ties between Pakistan and Türkiye, and highlights the importance of such joint initiatives in promoting environmental awareness and unity.
