Olive Nursery Training Boosts Pakistan Capacity
A team of Pakistani nursery technicians and managers completed an advanced training on nursery management at CIHEAM Bari under the OliveCulture Scale-Up Project, focusing on the production of certified olive propagative material. The programme combined classroom instruction with hands-on field sessions to address the specific needs of certified plant production and propagation.
Participants took part in intensive technical demonstrations and practical exercises covering propagation techniques and advanced agronomic practices tailored to olive cultivation. The training emphasized quality standards required for certified material and practical nursery workflows that technicians can apply back home.
Certificates were formally presented by Biagio Di Terlizzi, Director of CIHEAM Bari, marking the completion of the course. Trainees will return to Pakistan equipped to strengthen local olive nursery operations and support the supply of certified propagative material to growers.
The initiative under the OliveCulture Scale-Up Project reinforces capacity building in Pakistan’s olive sector, promoting improved propagation practices and higher-quality planting material through targeted nursery training and technical exchange.
