PHF Launches Domestic Hockey Calendar 2026-27

Islamabad: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has unveiled its National Domestic Hockey Calendar for 2026-27, outlining a full season of national events designed to revive the sport and strengthen pathways from grassroots to elite levels. The federation said the new Domestic Hockey schedule seeks to create structured opportunities for boys, girls, juniors, women and senior athletes with special emphasis on talent identification and player development across schools, colleges, universities, districts and provinces.

The PHF Domestic Hockey calendar includes six major national tournaments spread across the season. The National Women's Hockey Championship is set for July 2 to July 11, 2026, followed by the National Under-15 Boys and Girls Championship on November 12 to November 22, 2026. The National Under-21 Championship will take place January 2 to January 12, 2027, while the Naval Cup for senior men is scheduled for March 16 to March 26, 2027. The Chief of Army Staff Hockey Championship will run April 5 to April 15, 2027, and the season will conclude with the National Bank Gold Cup from April 25 to May 5, 2027.

The PHF has directed provincial sports boards, education departments, boards of intermediate and secondary education, universities, district sports authorities and hockey associations to immediately begin preparations for the Domestic Hockey season. Institutions are being urged to launch player registrations, talent-hunt programmes, coaching camps and inter-school and inter-district competitions well ahead of the national events to ensure broad-based participation and competitive exposure.

Officials highlighted that the success of the Domestic Hockey programme depends on close coordination between provincial authorities, schools and colleges, particularly to boost entries in the Under-15, Under-18 and women's championships. The federation emphasised that organised competitions and systematic player development at the grassroots will establish a sustainable pathway for emerging players to progress to higher levels.

The PHF also said detailed participation regulations, eligibility criteria and competition guidelines will be published by the PHF Competition Department in the coming weeks. The announcement underlines the federation's renewed commitment to rebuilding Pakistan hockey through professional planning, stronger domestic structure and increased engagement at community and institutional levels.
