HPV Vaccination Campaign for Schools in Islamabad

The District Health Office (DHO) Islamabad, in partnership with Jhpiego, conducted an orientation session for teachers from both public and private schools in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) to share information about the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine and the upcoming HPV Vaccination Campaign. The initiative aims to enhance understanding and preparedness ahead of the campaign scheduled for September 2025.

The session brought together representatives from the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PIERA), and religious scholars. Their participation underscored the importance of working together to increase awareness about the vaccine and to encourage widespread community involvement for the campaign’s success.

Officials from DHO Islamabad emphasized the critical role of the HPV vaccine in protecting young girls from cervical cancer. They acknowledged the essential contributions of teachers, educational institutions, and religious leaders in disseminating accurate information and mobilizing support within their communities.

The orientation reflects ongoing efforts to address public health issues through education, community engagement, and inter-institutional collaboration, aiming to safeguard the health of young girls and promote overall family wellbeing.
