FJWU Alumna Syeda Sumana Ali Shares Entrepreneurial Journey

Syeda Sumana Ali, a gold medalist and alumna of Fatima Jinnah Women University, visited the campus to share her entrepreneurial journey and lessons from an entrepreneurship course at Cornell University. Her talk emphasized determination, resilience and innovation for young professionals and entrepreneurs, and drew additional visibility through coverage by the Google Pakistan team.

The event was organized by Fatima Jinnah Women University and featured Ms. Sumana Ali, who graduated in the 1998–2001 cohort with a gold medal in Islamic Studies and is the founder of Metal Bling. Her career path and academic accomplishments were highlighted as an example of alumni success and women’s leadership.

During the session Ms. Sumana Ali described the milestones and challenges of building her venture, and relayed key insights she gained while studying entrepreneurship at Cornell University. She underscored practical themes such as adapting to setbacks, developing a clear vision, and applying creative problem-solving to grow a business.

Students responded positively to the talk, saying they found the guidance motivating and applicable to their own ambitions. The presence of the Google Pakistan team, which covered the session, expanded the event’s reach and reinforced its message about supporting women entrepreneurs.

Fatima Jinnah Women University framed the visit as part of its ongoing effort to connect students with successful alumni and to promote entrepreneurship and empowerment among women. The university said the session would help inspire students to pursue innovative and resilient professional paths.
