Delivering Punjab Flood Relief for Children

Star Welfare Foundation teams led by director Asad bin Azam are actively delivering food and essential supplies to children in flood-affected areas of Punjab. The relief mission focuses on immediate child needs, distributing biscuits, cakes, savory snacks, bottled water and cooked meals to communities where basic services have collapsed.

The floods have left many families with nothing; numerous areas remain submerged, schools have been destroyed and children are sleeping under the open sky because of a shortage of tents. With clothing and shoes scarce for many youngsters, the humanitarian response prioritizes child nutrition and protection as part of broader Punjab flood relief efforts.

In the first phase of the operation more than 1,000 children received food packages. Teams on the ground report rising health concerns and contagious diseases in the aftermath of the floods, which disproportionately affect children. To meet these needs, the foundation is arranging free medical camps where qualified doctors will provide treatment and medications at no cost to flood-affected women and children.

Asad bin Azam emphasized that the organisation is doing as much as possible on the ground but cannot meet the scale of need alone. The appeal is for coordinated support from local donors and especially overseas Pakistanis to increase the reach of Punjab flood relief, supply more tents, medical resources and food, and help restore dignity and stability to displaced families.

The relief mission continues with social workers and volunteers mobilised across affected districts. Ongoing support will focus on expanding medical cover, sustaining child nutrition programs and enabling affected families to regain self-reliance as waters recede and recovery begins.
