RAWALPINDI: Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Salman Ghani visited the RDA project for the construction of a multi-storey commercial building on Plot No 13-A, Mayo Road, also known as Rashid Minhas Road, Rawalpindi, to review the pace and quality of ongoing work.
During the inspection, the Commissioner examined the progress made on the project and directed the officers concerned to speed up construction activities so that the building could be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
He said the project held strategic importance for the Authority and should be completed without unnecessary delay, while ensuring strict compliance with approved specifications and maintaining the highest standards of construction quality.
The Commissioner also issued instructions for comprehensive safety arrangements at the site. Keeping in view the ongoing monsoon season, he directed the project management to take all necessary measures to protect the structure, construction material, machinery and workforce from heavy rain and weather-related hazards.
He stressed that occupational safety, public convenience and uninterrupted progress of the project must remain top priorities during execution of the work.
During the visit, the Commissioner reviewed different components of the project and directed the engineering team to closely monitor all construction activities. He also called for effective coordination among all stakeholders and said there should be no compromise on quality, transparency or safety standards.
Salman Ghani said timely completion of the multi-storey commercial building would strengthen RDA’s institutional infrastructure, improve its commercial assets and help ensure better public service delivery.
He reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to completing all ongoing development schemes efficiently, transparently and in line with the Punjab government’s vision for sustainable urban development.
Additional Director General RDA Masood Ahmad Bukhari, Director Land Ghazanfar Ali Awan, Director Engineering Komal Chaudhry and other officers of the Authority were also present on the occasion.
