Strengthening Pakistan Oman Health Cooperation
Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal met with Oman’s Ambassador Fahd Khalaf Al Kharusi to discuss expanding cooperation in the health sector and fortifying bilateral ties between the two countries. The meeting focused on practical steps to deepen collaboration across multiple areas of healthcare and public health.
Mustafa Kamal updated the ambassador on ongoing health sector reforms and government measures to support local vaccine manufacturing. He stressed that Pakistan is committed to scaling up domestic vaccine production and that such capability will strengthen regional health security and resilience.
Both sides agreed to work jointly across different health disciplines, with an emphasis on technical cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector so each country can benefit from shared expertise. Participants noted that focused pharmaceutical collaboration and technology transfer can accelerate production capacity and improve access to essential medicines.
The ambassador praised Pakistan’s medical expertise and expressed Oman’s interest in recruiting skilled nursing staff and medical specialists. He underlined the importance of medical education, professional training and regular expert exchanges as practical pathways to build a sustained workforce partnership.
Officials agreed that greater cooperation on training, exchanges of physicians and healthcare staff, and coordinated projects in vaccine manufacturing will help consolidate Pakistan Oman health ties and deliver tangible benefits to patients and health systems in both countries.
