Punjab Advances Eye Care with Cataract Support

Khawaja Imran Nazir, Punjab Minister for Health and Population, attended the inauguration of the Cataract Support Program Punjab in Lahore as the guest of honour. The launch, organised in collaboration with CBM and COAVS, marks a focused effort to address eye diseases across the province.

The minister said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, the Punjab government is taking practical steps to expand quality healthcare. He described the Cataract Support initiative as a potential milestone for both treatment and public awareness of cataract and other eye conditions.

Lauding the arrangements, the minister noted that cooperation with international partners will help strengthen public welfare and enhance the delivery of health services. He emphasised that the Cataract Support program aims to improve access to timely treatment and raise awareness among communities across Punjab.

The event in Lahore underlined the provincial government’s commitment to eye care, with organisers and partners highlighting the need for continued outreach and collaboration to make the Cataract Support program effective provincewide.
