OIC Steps Up Support for Palestine
On 23 October 2025, at the OIC General Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah, H.E. Amb. Samir Bakr, Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and Al-Quds Ash-Sharif, received H.E. Eng. Mazen Ghunaim, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on behalf of the Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
The meeting concentrated on recent developments across the Occupied Palestinian Territories, with a particular focus on the severe humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and the escalating systematic violations reported in the West Bank. Both officials underlined the urgent humanitarian needs and the deteriorating conditions facing civilians.
Delegates reviewed the OIC’s comprehensive efforts across various levels to advocate for the Palestinian cause, underscoring the organisation’s sustained political engagement. The discussion reaffirmed the OIC’s support for Palestine and its positioning of the issue as a principal element of the OIC’s political agenda.
The meeting signals continued diplomatic coordination between the OIC and Palestinian representatives as they work to keep attention on the unfolding humanitarian situation and the broader challenges in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
