Netherlands Support Boosts Aid for Afghan Refugees

The Dutch Embassy in Islamabad welcomed IOM Regional Director Iori for a meeting that reaffirmed Netherlands support for humanitarian efforts in Pakistan. The visit underscored the embassy’s commitment to sustained cooperation with international agencies addressing displacement and vulnerability.

As one of IOM’s largest donors in Pakistan, the Netherlands continues to back programmes delivering essential services to Pakistani local communities and Afghan refugees. Netherlands support has played a visible role in enabling IOM initiatives to reach families affected by displacement and to strengthen local capacities.

Officials noted the importance of coordinated action between the embassy, IOM Pakistan and UN partners to ensure aid reaches those most in need. This collaborative stance reflects a practical focus on maintaining assistance pipelines and supporting community resilience across the country.

Continued Netherlands support is expected to bolster ongoing humanitarian engagement in Pakistan, ensuring that Pakistani host communities and Afghan refugees receive targeted assistance through established IOM channels and partnership mechanisms.
