Expanding TVET Partnership with Italy for Youth
Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Ms. Wajiha Qamar, joined by Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis Mr. Aun Chaudhary, the Secretary Overseas, Chairman NAVTTC Gulmina Bilal and CEO PEEF Hajra Suhail, met with the Italian delegation from Fondazione Doria to discuss deeper collaboration in technical and vocational education and training.
The discussions centered on enhancing cooperation in TVET, developing skill-based programs and establishing pathways for international certifications. Both delegations explored concrete ways to create employment opportunities for Pakistani youth in Italy and other European countries through recognized training and certification frameworks.
Participants underlined the importance of a coordinated TVET partnership that aligns curricula with international standards, strengthens trainer capacity and supports mobility for graduates seeking work abroad. NAVTTC, PEEF and Fondazione Doria expressed commitment to building sustainable institutional links that promote high-quality technical education and skills development.
Officials said the next phase will focus on translating the commitments into pilot programs, certification pathways and partnership agreements that enable Pakistani young professionals to access training and employment opportunities in Europe while reinforcing domestic technical education capacity.
