Sabz Sitara App Expands Womens Care Access

Bayer Pakistan’s Consumer Health division and Greenstar Social Marketing have rolled out an upgraded Sabz Sitara mobile app to strengthen primary healthcare delivery for women across underserved areas of Pakistan. The app is designed for GSM’s nationwide network of healthcare providers, including Lady Health Workers and community midwives, who serve communities with limited access to clinical services.

Sabz Sitara links frontline providers to qualified gynecologists through a dedicated hotline for real-time clinical support on complicated cases. The platform also includes a clinical information database to support more accurate diagnosis and treatment, an adverse event reporting tool to enhance patient safety, and a streamlined procurement feature so providers can manage supplies efficiently and focus on patient care.

The app contains a consumer-facing section that enables women and their families to learn about common health conditions and to better manage everyday reproductive and intimate health needs. By offering accessible information alongside provider tools, Sabz Sitara seeks to bridge knowledge gaps at both the community and clinical level.

This digital solution aims to accelerate clinical decision-making and expand care for millions of women, particularly in low-income and under-served areas. The Sabz Sitara launch is part of the EmpowHer collaboration between Bayer Pakistan and GSM, begun in 2024. In its first year the EmpowHer programme reached more than 500,000 women with awareness and education on intimate health conditions and provided treatment to 100,000 women through 2,000 trained GSM Lady Health Workers.

The upgraded Sabz Sitara app builds on this work by giving local health workers timely clinical support and practical tools that improve patient safety and broaden access to essential women’s healthcare across Pakistan.
