Millat Tractors Drives Junior Tennis Growth

The Millat Tractors Junior National Tennis Championship 2026 began on Monday at the Punjab Tennis Academy in Bagh-e-Jinnah, bringing together Pakistan’s top young players in a showcase of emerging Junior Tennis talent.

The opening ceremony saw Senior Manager Administration of Millat Tractors Imran Ayub as chief guest, with a strong turnout from the local tennis community. Present at the event were Rashid Malik (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), Senior Executive Vice President of the Punjab Lawn Tennis Association, tournament referee Faheem Siddiqui, PLTA seniors coach Mehboob Waheed Jan and Syed Sajid Ali Bukhari, President of the Parents Tennis Lovers Association, alongside players, parents and supporters.

Addressing the players, Rashid Malik urged competitors to take part with discipline and passion, to pursue excellence and aim to represent Pakistan with pride at international levels. Malik also thanked Millat Tractors for its continued support in nurturing Junior Tennis across the country.

In boys’ U-18 first-round action, Hamza Ali Rizwan defeated Hassan Alam 6-1, 6-1 while Aliyan Ali overcame Muteeb ur Rehman 6-4, 6-2. M Umar Ali outplayed Bilal Awais 6-0, 6-4, and Muhammad Muaz beat Faizan Haider 6-0, 6-1. Muhammad Ahmad Afzal recorded a 6-1, 6-4 win over Lubaid Ahmad Khan. Ruhab Faisal dominated Abdullah Pirzada 6-1, 6-0, Moazam Babar beat Romail Shahid 6-2, 6-2, and Atiq ur Rehman secured a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Zayd Mansoor. The tightest contest saw Aalay Hussain stage a comeback to defeat Rehaan Khan 3-6, 7-6, 6-1.

The boys’ U-14 first round produced several one-sided results as young players fought for advancement. Muhammad Junaid beat Daniyal Abdullah 4-1, 4-2 while Ohad-e-Mustafa posted a 4-0, 4-0 win over Daniyal Afzal Malik. Muhammad Muaz continued his strong form with a 4-1, 4-2 victory against Ahmad Khuda Bakhsh. Salaar Khan defeated Salman Pirzada 4-2, 4-2 and Ashtar Alam Khan blanked Muhammad Turab Bhatti 4-0, 4-0. Mustafa Uzair Rana and Shahzain Faisal each recorded 4-0, 4-0 wins over M Husnain and M Mamnoon Bari, respectively. Ryan Umer Khalil beat M Ehsan Bari 4-1, 4-0, M Ibraheem Hussain Gill defeated Moazzam Babar 4-1, 4-0, and Muhammad Faizan edged M Daniyal 4-2, 5-3.

The championship is positioned as a key platform for spotting and developing future national players, with organizers and sponsors emphasizing that sustained support and competitive exposure at events like this are vital for the growth of Junior Tennis in Pakistan.
